School board moving forward on ‘Narcan’ policy

CLAREMONT -— A policy that would allow Claremont schools to stock an overdose-reversing drug will advance.

The Claremont School Board moved to second reading of an updated First Aid and Emergency Medical Care Policy, including provisions to allow school nurses to stock and administer naloxone.

The board unanimously voted to move the policy, along with several others, to a second reading at its next regularly scheduled board meeting. Board member Chris Irish was not in attendance for the vote.
