Brown County ‘Drug Take Back’ events collect thousands of pounds of unwanted pills

BROWN COUNTY, Wis. Saturday is one of two annual ‘Drug Take Back’ events throughout the state, this year’s campaign is called ‘Dose of Reality.’

According to the U.S. Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA), last October a total of 456 tons of unwanted drugs nationwide were collected. In a study, the U.S. National Institute on Drug Abuse say 86 percent of heroin users used opioid pain relievers recreationally before they ever used heroin.
