Members of the public administer more Narcan in Nashua than first responders
NASHUA, N.H. —
As drug overdoses continued to drop in the first two months of 2019 in New Hampshire’s two largest cities, for the first time members of the public administered a larger amount of Narcan to patients experiencing overdoses than did first responders.
Data released Friday by American Medical Response said year-to-date, individuals administered 446 milligrams of the overdose-reversal drug before first responders arrived to calls, compared with 419 milligrams combined for A.M.R. and Nashua Fire and Rescue.
