LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — Troopers with Nevada Highway Patrol will soon be carrying Narcan, or naloxone, to counteract possible overdoses of opioids or heroin.
In a statement released Thursday, NHP said troopers have begun training with the drug to administer it in the field, and each trooper would carry two doses of the nasal spray version.
A person suffering from an opioid overdose has about 45-90 minutes to reverse the effects before death, according to NHP.
