Opioid abuse: A quiet but real talent concern for CIOs

When it comes to managing talent pipelines, CIOs have a multitude of issues to deal with including retiring baby boomers, millennials who need reskilling, a declining national labor participation rate, low unemployment rates, 750,000 open information technology jobs, federal immigration policy, and robots versus humans.

Now, another concern, one that most IT leaders acknowledge, but largely ignore, must be added to their worry list: the precipitous rise of opioid use in the U.S. workforce.
