Sheriff on Narcan: “It’s hard to put into words the effect this stuff has”

The state of Missouri is losing hundreds of people to opioid overdose each year. In 2017, 951 Missourians died by overdose.

More and more, first responders are opting to carry naloxone hydrochloride – more commonly known as Narcan. The powerful medicine can rapidly reverse the deadly impacts of opioid overdose.

The Cole County Sheriff’s Department began carrying the nasal spray in March.
