Southwick police officers self-administer Narcan after exposure during overdose response

SOUTHWICK – Two town police officers were treated at Baystate Medical Center Sunday after displaying symptoms similar to exposure to fentanyl or other opioids while responding to a fatal overdose.

Detective Sgt. Robert D. Landis and Officer Marc S. Siegel were treated and released following the incident.

“We were in the room for a time and Mark started feeling the effects, then I realized I was too,” said Landis. “We self-administered Narcan and asked for an ambulance.
